Tejas got me some Smalltalk books. It’s been worth the $120 spent on these Smalltalk books. Nirav loved the books, and I’ve lent him the honeycomb book.

I’m going through the book “Smalltalk, Objects and Design“, for now.

It's been a great week

I think I’ve made some real progress this week, with respect to coming to a balance in my daily activities, I’ve found time to complete my work in 8 hours (doing some interesting research on my project,) read some of my books, play volleyball on the ground next to our corporate office, discuss with Nirav on project estimation and exchanged some blog entries on what might be expected of Java 7.

I’m now able to leave for home by 8:00 PM, enjoy dinner, and have a good night’s sleep. That’s a healthy life I’m enjoying at the moment. Hope to keep up the same tempo.

Who Says Elephants can't Dance

I’ve just begun reading “Who Says Elephants Can’t Dance? Inside IBM’s Historic Turnaround

During the early to mid 90′s, IBM was a company that had begun to flounder after designing the first business computer. Louis Gerstner Jr. takes you inside his historic turnaround at IBM to show that culture can be changed. From not offering the high placed salaries to a culture where not everyone’s job is secure were all remarkable to the folks at IBM. You really get an inside look at the company during his tenure and this book is invaluable if you are trying to study the computer industry.

Elephants can indeed dance!

The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy

HitchHiker's Guide to the Galaxy

I got hold of this one while on JM road. This one contains the four parts of the “five part trilogy”.

The books are described as “a trilogy in five parts“, having been described as a trilogy on the release of the third book, and then a “trilogy in four parts” on the release of the fourth book. The fifth book was originally released with the legend “The fifth book in the increasingly inaccurately named Hitchhiker’s Trilogy” on the cover. Subsequent re-releases of the other novels bore the legend “The [first, second, third, fourth] in the increasingly inaccurately named Hitchhiker’s trilogy.

More about it on Wikipedia.
